What is Facetite?

Facetite is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure that utilises radiofrequency energy to tighten and contour the skin. It is a form of radiofrequency-assisted lipolysis (RFAL) that has two main effects:

  1. Melting the subcutaneous fat
  2. Tightening the skin

One of the key advantages of Facetite is its ability to provide noticeable results without the need for extensive surgery or large incisions. The procedure is performed under local anaesthesia, ensuring minimal discomfort and downtime.

Facetite can be an excellent option for patients seeking a non-surgical solution to tighten and contour specific areas of the face, jawline and neck.

What happens during the Facetite procedure?

A Facetite procedure is performed under local anaesthesia, to make sure you experience minimal discomfort. During the procedure, a small, handheld device is inserted beneath the skin through a tiny incision that Dr. Gino Vissers will make on a hidden place.

The device emits controlled radiofrequent energy, which heats the underlying tissues and melts the fat. Additionally, the radiofrequency energy stimulates collagen production. This process tightens and firms the skin while also promoting tissue remodeling and contouring.

Dr. Gino Vissers will gently move the device across the area, until the complete target area has been treated. At the end of the procedure, you will be given a massage to remove melted fat and excess fluid from your skin, and a supporting dressing will be applied.

What to expect after Facetite?

You can resume normal activities or drive home immediately after the treatment.

Following a Facetite treatment, patients may experience mild swelling, bruising, or numbness in the treated area. These effects typically resolve within a few days to a week. You will be provided a supportive neck dressing that you should wear for 2 weeks. After your treatment, cooling packs can be applied to help reduce any swelling.

The results of Facetite continue to improve over time as collagen production increases, with optimal outcomes typically seen within a few months.

Dr. Gino Vissers will provide detailed post-operative instructions to promote optimal healing and ensure a smooth and comfortable recovery process.

FAQ

  • Am I suitable for Facetite?

Facetite is best indicated for patients with both a mild fat excess and mild skin laxity. If either the fat excess or skin laxity is too extensive, liposuction or a surgical neck lift might be a better option for you.  Dr. Gino Vissers will help you to determine whether you are an good candidate for Facetite or not.

  • How long does a Facetite treatment take?

The duration of a Facetite treatment  mainly depends on the size of  the treatment area.

On average, a Facetite treatment takes about one hour.

  • What precautions should I take for Facetite?

To be on the safer side of minimising any bruising risks, it would be best to avoid aspirin, anti-inflammatory medications such as ibuprofen, herbal supplements, vitamin E, and Fish Oil at least one week prior to your treatment if permitted.

It is recommended any use of retinol products, topical antibiotics, and exfoliants is avoided 48 hours before your Facetite treatment.

Dr. Gino Vissers also recommends avoiding sun exposure or tanning (including tanning beds and self-tanning products) for a minimum of 24 hours before the treatment.

  • When will I see the results?

Early changes can be seen 2 to 3 weeks after the Facetite procedure, when the majority of the swelling has come down.

You will continue to see changes up to 6 months after the procedure, as it takes this long for new collagen to fully develop.

  • How long do Facetite results last?

Since Facetite uses radiofrequency assisted lipolysis and skin tightening techniques, its results are long-lasting. One session of Facetite is designed to last for many years. However, ageing is a natural and ongoing process. Due to this, the effect will finally wear off.
